New to paddling or the club Introductory Sessions
These sea kayak introductory sessions are run by one of our coaches. They are intended as an introduction to sea kayaking to non-members but they may also be useful to those members who do not have their own equipment or who would like to increase their confidence. This year there are two cohorts A and B - comprising of 4 sessions starting on 22 April and the 17th June.
These sessions are now full for 2023 watch this space for new dates that may be added.
They will take place at Emsworth Marina,
The sessions will be no more than 2.5 hours long.
The club has available kayaks, cagoules, buoyancy aids, paddles. Sea kayaks are sit in kayaks with enclosed cockpits.
Basic water skills are required ie able to swim and general all round confidence in the water.
We are sorry but we do not have the capacity to take young people (under 18s) for these sessions unless accompanied by their parent/carer both off and on the water.
You do not need to be a member of Portsmouth Canoe Club for these sessions but you will be asked to join if you want to continue your paddling with the club after the introductory sessions.
The charge is £24 for the 4 sessions which includes any equipment hire. Once your place is confirmed we will ask you to pay this before starting your course. If you are a member with your own equipment you do not need to pay.
For further info and how to book please complete the Portsmouth Canoe Club Introductory Sessions form.
Please note Cohort A and B is now full watch this space for new dates that may be added.
